Piscolabis
Piscolabis is a bold and condensed display typeface based on various hand-painted signs found across Europe. The project started as a sans-serif spin-off of the Picaflor typeface (with which it shares the same x-height) but it soon developed its own personality. Piscolabis is perfect for headliners and titles where one would want a bit of character but not too much; its high ascenders beign one of its defining features.
The word "piscolabis" in Spain refers to a kind of bar where they serve various snacks, so the name of the typeface is based on childhood memories.
